Hongming Wang is a post-doctoral researcher at the Hitotsubashi Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS), Hitotsubashi University. His research has examined the economic implications of insurance expansions for low-income children and adults, and the impacts of private insurance for the elderly. He currently receives funding from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science to examine the long-run impacts of universal health insurance implemented in Japan in 1961.
